Apps
You can also browse the list with third-party apps on joinmastodon.org. Here we only show a few free and open-source apps we recommend.
- Note that the standard web-app works very good on smartphones and tablets.
Android
- Mastodon for Android (official): Google Play, source
Only recommended for beginners. Note that this app won't show the federated timeline. The local timeline can be found under 'explore > community'.
iOS (iPhone/iPad)
- Mastodon for iOS (official): App Store, source
Only recommended for beginners. Note that this app won't show the federated timeline. The local timeline can be found under 'explore > community'.
- Although not recommended by us, because these apps are not open-source and not free (as in beer), other people recommend these iOS apps:
Follow other people and let them follow you
-
- You can find other people on Mastodon (and the rest of the fediverse) by topic and follow them. You can for example follow anarchists, environmentalists, LGBTQ+ people, socialists and vegans.
- All people are listed voluntary and you can add yourself too, so people can find and follow you as well.
